Get to Know Alec Joy, DMD

Franklin Park dentist Alec Joy

For Dr. Alec Joy, there is nothing more rewarding than the feeling of relieving a patient’s pain or fixing their smile. So, it’s easy to see why he’s so passionate about dentistry! Originally from St. John, IN, he is proud to now use his education, training, and talent to help patients in and around Franklin Park smile brighter.

Why Did Dr. Joy
Become a Dentist?

Dr. Joy’s start in dentistry began a bit unexpectantly. He got his wisdom teeth removed by a well-known oral surgeon during his undergraduate studies, and he asked him the very same day for a job. He ended up getting hired as a summer intern, exposing him to all different types of surgeries. Even more importantly, he witnessed first-hand the gratitude patients showed after getting the pain-relieving, smile-enhancing care they needed. Initially Dr. Joy wanted to spend his life as an oral surgeon but he chose to become a general dentist so he could see the treatment progress from start to end.
